Soccer 5-a-side Tournament 2023

The SPAR FAI Primary School 5-a-side is a competition hosted by FAI Schools, which is an affiliate of the FAI. With nearly 24,000 children from 1,200 schools taking part, the 5-a-side is the most popular primary schools sporting event in the soccer calendar. The hugely popular competition is open to boys and girls in 4th, 5th and 6th class from primary schools across Ireland.

The competition is organised on a County, Regional and Provincial basis, before the best schools take part in the SPAR FAI Primary School 5s National Finals in the Aviva each May.

In the Mercy, 98 girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class tried out for the school team which left both Ms Morrison and Ms Falconer with the difficult task of choosing 16 girls to represent the school. A huge congratulations to all of the girls who came along during the week to try out. Great Mercy spirit was on display this week!

The 16 girls will take part in the Waterford competition on Friday 24th February, SETU Arena. Best of luck girls.
